Pirates pursue Ngele
Rumors and speculations surrounding local midfielder Mogakolodi ‘Tsotso’ Ngele’s future at South African PSL club Mamelodi Sundowns continue to swirl. The Zebras star is currently linked to SA PSL giant Orlando Pirates as the transfer window nears to a close in the neighboring country.
Ngele, who was on a loan spell at Bidvest Wits, has recently returned to his mother Club Mamelodi Sundowns after a successful season, which saw the attacking midfielder win two trophies (MTN Top 8 and Absa Premiership) under the tutelage of veteran coach Gavin Hunt.
The former Township Rollers player is well known for his scoring prowess and his technique on the ball. Ngele has been a thorn to all the South African footballing giants including Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and his parent Club Mamelodi Sundowns in recent years.
Pirates are currently searching at Chloorkop for the 27 year old’s signature. However Mamelodi Sundowns headcoach Pitso Mosimane has made it clear that they will not sell Ngele as he fears the striker will come back to haunt them.
Having finished outside the top 8 bracket and having registered their most horrible season ever, Pirates evidently need the service of Ngele more than any other PSL club, Pirates coach Kjell Jonevret will highly appreciate someone of Tsotso’s work rate having had a legion of supporters rallying behind him and accusing players of not being committed to the club.
A move to Orlando Pirates has been on the cards for several years now. Since 2014 the player has been linked with the Soweto giants in what could be big money move. Ngele proved too expensive for Bidvest Wits and will certainly mean Orlando Pirates will also have to dig deep inside their pocket if they need to land the midfielder.
Orlando Pirates will need to be quick on their mark as the transfer window curtains are set to close in a few weeks if they indeed need the service of the world class Ngele. The midfield maestro will be the second player from Botswana to sign for Pirates after Phenyo Mongala’s short successful spell at the club.
