Golden Door Sports Agency and its gold sponsor, First National Bank Botswana, are pulling out all the stops to make this an unforgettable event.
The Botswana International Cross-Country Continental Tour has been granted gold status by World Athletics, meaning that it is a premier event on the global cross-country circuit. Athletes who compete in the tour will have the chance to qualify for the World Cross-Country Championships, which will take place in March. The event will feature categories for under-20 women and men, as well as senior men and women. The event organizers and partners have promised a spectacular and memorable experience for all involved.
The FNBB sponsorship is valued at BWP 500,000.00 and will go towards planning, organizing, and hosting the Botswana International Cross-Country, including prize money for the participating athletes.
Speaking during the event launch, Peo Porogo, FNB Botswana's Director of Marketing and Communications, shared the bank's enthusiasm and commitment to supporting sports in Botswana. Porogo expressed the bank's confidence in the event and its ability to bring the country together in a positive way.
'At FNBB, our interest in sports goes beyond traditional sponsorship; it reflects our dedication to a shared value strategy aimed at ensuring that communities in which FNB Botswana operates are developed and benefit from our success,' she said.
She mentioned that The Botswana International Cross-Country creates an extraordinary opportunity for FNBB to actively contribute to the multi-dimensional development of athletics in our country. As the Gold sponsor, they envision this event as more than just a showcase of athletic talent; it's about forging a legacy, nurturing the aspirations of young talents, and positioning Botswana as a prominent destination for international sporting events.
