TALENT STAR: Segolame Boy is of the finest players to ever play for Township Rollers - PIC Township Rollers

After a long and difficult battle with injury, Segolame Boy is back on the pitch for Township Rollers, with a burning desire to reclaim his former glory. From a long recovery process, he has finally returned to the pitch and has already scored the first goal of the BFL season 2023-2024 and named the man of the match in his first game back.

At some point, Boy was a valuable midfielder for Township Rollers scoring many goals and providing crucial assists throughout his career as well as winning awards back-to-back. His career hit a roadblock in 2019, when he suffered an injury that required surgery; the same year he successfully underwent an arthroscopic shoulder surgery at Rosebank Netcare Hospital in Johannesburg.

Boy’s determination to come back stronger than ever was clear to see in his first game back, against Masitaoka. He played with skill and passion, scoring a stunning goal and receiving the man of the match award. His team,

Township Rollers, won the match 2 nil over the weekend at National Stadium.

Segolame Boy's return to form has been a welcome sight for fans of both Township Rollers and the Botswana national team. After missing some pre-season games due to injury, he has come back stronger than ever, showing no signs of rust and even impressing the national team coach, Mogomotsi Mpote. He looked confident and composed on the ball, linking up play and creating offensive opportunities. The fans who were questioning his absence from the national team will be delighted to see him back in national side.

After the game, Boy said that he was happy to be back and fit to continue playing, and that he was looking forward to an interesting season ahead. He was clearly feeling optimistic and excited about what the future holds for him and his team.

“It's always great to get your first goal of the season early on. It's a sign that as an individual and as a team, we're ready for the season ahead. We've been working hard in pre-season and we're looking forward to showing what we can do in competitive games.” Boy said.

Boy's excellent performance in the match puts him in a strong position for the Township Rollers Player of the Season award at the end of the season. His natural talent and consistent on-pitch performance make him a strong contender of the titles.

The Township Rollers Player of the Season will win a vehicle from NTT Nissan Botswana and the Top Goal scorer will get a holiday sponsored by Avani to a holiday destination of their choice at any Avani Hotel in Southern Africa.
