Ngaka was invited to the Victory8 tournament in Hanoi, Vietnam, as part of the country's efforts to promote the growth of boxing, both within Vietnam and internationally. Vietnam has seen a surge in the popularity of boxing in recent years, and the tournament is a way to share this victory with the rest of the world. The event aims to show other countries how they can foster their own boxing communities and create champions of their own. Ngaka is proud to be a part of this initiative and looks forward to sharing his skills and experiences with the Vietnamese people.
According to the organizers of the Victory8 tournament, the event aims to be the biggest outdoor boxing match ever held in the city of Hanoi, Vietnam. They have titled the event 'Vietnam team vs the World team', reflecting their desire to unite different cultures through boxing. It is hoped that this will lead to a revival of the sport around the world, and strengthen international relations.
Seth Resources Media Relations spokesperson Anita Rannoba expressed her delight that Ngaka has been invited to the Victory8 tournament, which she believes will be a valuable preparation for his upcoming title defence. She described the Victory8 tournament as one of the world's most popular events, with more than 15 million TV viewers, 50,000 in-person attendees, 30 million unique online viewers, and over 100 million total online views.
According to Rannoba, this exposure will benefit both Ngaka and Botswana, showcasing his skills and elevating the nation to a new level, stating that there will be monetary reward of P84 000 for the winners. “Ngaka has been focused on training and building his brand as an independent athlete. He is no longer with the Drad Boxing Club, where he won his title. His last fight was in August in , where he faced off against South African boxer, Sanele Maduna at the UB Arena the match that ended in a draw, so this will be an opportunity for him to test himself against some of the best in the sport and learn from them,” she mentioned.
Rannoba also called on Botswana Investment and Trade Centre, Botswana Tourism Organisation, Okavango Diamond Company, Lucara Diamond Mine, Botswana National Sport Council, and Botswana businesses to sponsor the event and showcase their products and services over the 3-day tournament in Vietnam. With 10 countries involved - Vietnam, Philippines, Australia, Korea, Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Japan, Italy, and Botswana, it will be an excellent opportunity to promote Botswana's entertainment, tourism, and economy.
She believes that Botswana is uniquely positioned to take advantage of this opportunity, as a key player in the diamond industry, and with its incredible natural beauty and diverse culture. Furthermore, the tournament will provide an opportunity to showcase Botswana's sports talent. 'As the only African representative at the Victory8 tournament, Ngaka will be an ambassador for the country and the event will bring international attention to Botswana, which could help to drive economic growth and investment in the country through the sport,” Rannoba added.
