A seven months old baby was removed from the back of a deceased mother in a tragic incident that happened on Friday in Ralekgetho near Moshupa.

The dead mother, 30 year-old Onneetse Nkweetsile was allegedly stabbed multiple times on the body by her jealous boyfriend Obetletse Gaofose who hails from Moshaweng lands.

The mother of five, Nkweetsile was stabbed by the boyfriend at her family home in Ralekgetho. She failed to survive multiple knife stabbings, fell to the ground and died on the spot, with the infant still strapped on her back.

The shocked relatives who heard their daughter screaming for help, rushed to the deceased, unwrapped bloodstained blankets and removed the baby from her back.

After seeing the girlfriend lying lifeless on the ground, Gaofose fled the scene, leaving behind a knife and a pair of scissors. He was later arrested after police conducted an intensive search.

The girlfriend was later confirmed dead, and the cause of death stated as haemorrhagic shock due to multiple knife stab wounds.

Details of the incident are that the boyfriend, did not find his baby mama home after she went partying with the baby on her back. He later accused her of cheating, as she sometimes sleeps outside home, leaving him with their other children.

Moshupa station commander, David Ramoseki confirmed the murder incident to The Midweek Sun and said they arrested the suspect who fled the scene after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend. He revealed that Gaofose will appear before Kanye magistrate court on Monday.

During the court appearance, upon arrival in the court dock, Gaofose was ready to defend himself. He was stopped by the presiding magistrate and told that he will share other details during trial.

The case was set for September 26th. Presiding magistrate invited investigation officer to be in court then, to state reasons why the accused should be further remanded in police custody.

Speaking with The Midweek Sun outside court, Gaofose said he only killed the girlfriend out of jealousy. 'I have no money to give relatives, to assist with the burial. I do not know where I will ever find another girlfriend,' the accused said.
