Man commits suicide after burying his brother

A 30-year-old man was found hanging by the neck inside his bedroom at Polaseng ward in Tsetsebjwe village this past Monday.

The man was discovered by his baby mama who grew worried when her lover did not come out of his room several minutes after he went inside claiming to be bathing.

She was also unsettled by the man's strange behaviour of wanting to lock up the room because he wanted to bath, an act she was not used to.

The baby mama is alleged to have then tiptoed towards the boyfriend's house wanting to see what he was up to and fortunately, one of the bedroom windows was open.

She was met by the horror sight of the man's dangling legs, his body hanging by the neck from the rafters when she peeped inside.

Confirming the matter, Martin's Drift station commander Onneetse Gagogosha said the matter was reported to them on Monday afternoon and upon arrival at the crime scene, they rushed the man to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

“We are investigating what could have happened. What we have heard is that when he arrived home, he was returning from the clinic and there was no suspicion that he was somehow troubled or battling any suicide thoughts,” he said.

He said what is hurting the grieving family more is that they buried the 30-year-old’s brother this past Sunday.

“The family is devastated, they do not know what is happening, they are failing to understand why death is seemingly following their family,” Gagogosha said.

Although the police boss could not tell with certainty, The Midweek Sun has established that the brother died because of ill health.

Shortly after his death, the 30-year old told the family that he does not think that he will be able to attend the burial of his brother.

“It appears his brother’s death hit him hard or maybe he was going through something else which he did not share, there is no suicide note,” a source said.
