Pastor's son kills man at church
Kgosana Beka Seane of Tupya village finds himself in a very difficult position after his son, Moitshepi Gabanamotse (20) allegedly murdered Oagile Ditsela (46) this past Friday at Christ Revival church.
As a community leader, Seane does not know how he will be able to stand before his people without guilt and shame eating away at him.
“The police took him away on Saturday and I have not been able to talk to him. I really do not understand what could have happened. We have already tried reaching out to the family of the deceased because I knew the man he allegedly killed and I am torn,” Seane said.
As a pastor himself but for a different church, Seane said he stands before people preaching about God only for his son to commit the most heinous crime and to make it worse, in church!
Kgosana Seane never knew that his son was capable of murder, saying he has always enjoyed staying indoors.
“We knew him to be a well-mannered child, he never went out at night as far as I know. And this one time he did, he finds himself in deep trouble.
Martin’s Drift police station commander, Moses Morolong confirmed investigating the matter.
He said that whilst in church on Friday night, the congregation heard banging sounds on the roofing, suggesting that someone was throwing stones at them.
They went out to check what was happening and found a group of boys outside the church. The boys then pointed at the accused, saying he was the one who was throwing stones at the church.
“When they tried confronting him, the accused allegedly stabbed one of the church members. The 46-year-old was taken to hospital where he was confirmed dead upon arrival,” Morolong said.
The accused is expected to appear before Palapye magistrate court today (Wednesday).
