At only 13-years of age, Elang Myma Chibana has already demonstrated her capability in motorsport. She jumped into the competitive biking world with her brother and has achieved exciting 10 podium finishes over the last two years. The passionate motorsport athlete, who, growing up watched her brother ride at the family farm, jumped at the chance to join the sport at the age of 5 years.

Her first competitive bike class was the 85cc class. This is where she accumulated 10 podium finishes in just 2 years. In 2021, Chibana finished 3rd overall in off-road and 4th in motocross race. Though she was unable to represent her country, Botswana, at the 2021 Motocross of African Nations event, 2022 proved to be a successful year for Chibana. After securing the first race win of the year, she was invited to the Botswana National Championship Prize Giving awards, where she received 5 trophies, including 2nd overall in the OR6 off-road category and 1st in the ladies Motocross class.

For the 2023 season, Chibana is determined to make her mark on the MX and Offroad racing circuit. With her sights set on participating in all Mx and Offroad races held in Botswana and 6 races in South Africa, she is sure to be a formidable opponent in the space. Her determination and impressive progress has not gone unnoticed. This coming week, from the 23-25 June 2023, she will compete in the Toyota 1000 Desert Race in Jwaneng. This race is one of the biggest sporting events in Botswana and Southern Africa and is sure to push her to reach even greater heights.

Chibana is inspiring a new generation of young people to pursue their dreams and become competitive athletes. She is also adamant about maintaining her physical and mental fitness, staying healthy by eating properly, and nurturing her emotional wellbeing. This is only the beginning for the young racer. As she takes on the Toyota 1000 Desert Race, she is sure to be inspired and demonstrate her talent in a brand-new way. Her future in the realm of racing looks bright and we look forward to seeing what she will bring to the track.
