FOUND DECOMPOSED WITH MISSING PARTS
The body of Onkgomoditse Keipheditse (21) who has been missing since the 26th of May 2023 was found this past Friday buried and badly decomposed near the riverbank in Mmadinare village.
According to Officer Commanding No. 10 District, Meshack Pulenyane, the police were alerted by a passer-by who told them that they saw a human like figure buried near the riverbank.
It appears the body was buried along the bank and flowing water swept away the soil that was covering her body, leaving her exposed.
The police boss said that they suspect that the deceased was murdered and investigations are still underway.
Although Pulenyane could not confirm nor deny, Onkgomoditse was allegedly found with missing body parts.
Those close to the matter say it appears wild animals had been feasting on her body as her thigh was found torn and seemingly devoured.
When speaking to The Midweek Sun in an interview a few weeks back, her concerned parents could not help but worry that their daughter might be dead wherever she was.
The mother, Olebile Keipheditse (39) said she last saw her daughter when she was going out for a night of fun at a nearby bar.
“I had just returned from the farm and was not feeling so well. She cooked for me and said she would be going out to a nearby bar for entertainment. When she left, she was acting all weird. She was unusually kissing her siblings, goodbye.
“I asked why she was kissing her siblings and she responded that she loved them dearly. I then told her that when she returns from her night of fun, she should come sleep in my room because I was not feeling well, to which she agreed,” the mother recounted, adding that the bar that her daughter was going to is not far from her home.
To the mother’s surprise, when she woke up the next day, her daughter had still not returned.
The family tried to search for her all over but in vain. They went to the bar where she was last seen and those who claimed to have seen her pointed to a certain man in Mmadinare. They say they last saw them together at a club in
Mmadinare and not the bar situated near the family.
This week, the devastated mother was out of words. “Our hearts are bleeding, we will not easily recover from this loss,” she briefly said.
Onkgomoditse’s father Goitsemodimo Ramatebele (45) said he last saw her daughter more than a month back.
“I reside in Matladi ward, on the other side of the village. I bumped into her at the hospital weeks back, she was with her younger sister and I asked her what she was doing in Mmadinare because the last I heard, she was in Francistown. We talked briefly and went our separate ways,” Ramatebele said.
He added that he adored his daughter dearly. “I have not been able to sleep, I keep thinking that she has been killed, how someone disappears without a trace like that boggles the mind,” the father said before the body of his daughter was recovered.
He said it has never happened that Onkgomoditse disappears without telling anyone where she was going.
