The reigning Miss Pre-Teen Hope International 2022/23, Katlego Matheakgomo is set to represent the country in Rio de Jenaro, Brazil as Miss Teen Global Beauty International Botswana 2023/24 in October.
The gorgeous queen was officially crowned Miss Teen Global Beauty International Botswana 2023/24 over the weekend.
Matheakgomo is a multi-talented beauty queen who is open minded and ready to conquer the world. She is content that she will beat other international queens and not come back home empty handed. During the launch of her new title, she expressed gratitude to all those who have been supporting her throughout her pageantry journey. She is thankful to her public speaking coach, Pato Makuku and TNT Artistic movement, BurnOut Sessions for her gym sessions,
Propellers for swimming and Glory Modeling Academy for her Modelling skills.
She is also working on her project, ‘Out of Shadows from prejudice to hope’. 'Out of shadows’ means that she is coming out to the public to empower others, and ‘From Prejudice’ means that she is dealing with the intolerance that epilepsy patients face, and a living example that epilepsy condition is not the end of life. She shared her story in different schools to motivate other children.
One of the guest speakers at the event, Keotshephile Motseonageng better known as Berry Heart gave a standing ovation to Katlego saying that she is a confident young lady born to win. Katlego is known to be an actress, model, Taekwondo dancer, and cheerleader. She will also be representing Botswana in Durban at African championship cheerleading from July 5th to July 9th.
Berry Heart has offered to sponsor this young queen on her journey to the international stage. She has pleaded with the public to rally behind the queen and support her in anyway they can to help her bring the crown home. She recalled that the last time Botswana entirely won an international pageant was back in 1999 when Mpule Kwelagobe won the Miss Universe title.
“Emerging beauty pageants proven that Botswana has beautiful women. A sister to Katlego, Kimberly Matheakgomo has recently won an award in Thailand, as well as the reigning Morning STAR International Botswana 2023, queen Lihle Khutshwe, who recently won best national competition in Taipei, Taiwan and first princess,” she said.
Berry Heart pleaded for online support for the queen, stating that pageantry depend on the wealth of numbers on social media. “It is very important to follow Katlego’s pages at this moment,” she said. She also encouraged other creatives to support each other and recognize industry leaders like Glitz Awards for support.
