A distraught 50-year-old woman Stellah Motsaalore wishes for her 70-year-old boyfriend Gaolese Phakane Kgomokhumo to rot in jail after he attacked her with an axe last week in Goo Lobeko ward in Kanye.
The attacked mother of three is nursing fresh injuries, with bruised eyes and a swollen head. She sustained severe injuries on the forehead as her lover intended to chop her head off with an axe they use for firewood.
"The reason behind the attack was that I had recently accommodated a young man from church at my Lotlhakane house, he accused me of sleeping with the young man. I suspect he had long planned to kill me after that incident, and now I am unable to walk properly because my legs are still numb due to fear," she said.
On that fateful day she went to bed in their Kanye house without knowing that her lover was planning to finish her off and as usual fell asleep next to him.
While the attack took place days later in Kanye, Motsaalore had accommodated the young man back in her house in Lotlhakane, where Kgomokhumo had visited her and found the man staying there. "I only helped the young man as a church mate, I never slept with him," Motsaalore said.
She was shocked to wake up on a hospital bed surrounded by nurses and not knowing how she arrived there. She had a swollen stitched head.
Speaking to The Midweek Sun, Kgomokhumo said during his visit, he noticed that his girlfriend kept going out of bed during the night, claiming to have been using the toilet.
"She was restless at night since the young man had come to the house," he said, adding that what irritated him the most was that the young man was never involved in any house chores.
Kgomokhumo said the young man claimed to be a prophet, adding that the so-called prophet has ruined many relationships in Lotlhakane through his fake prophesies, forcing men to end relationships while he remained to have sex with their girlfriends.
"Our guest would spend the entire time in the bedroom smoking marijuana without even assisting with house chores. After smoking, he would start spreading lies to my girlfriend. We were planning to get married and the false prophet has since ruined all the marriage plans," the devastated Kgomokhumo said.
He added that he handed himself to the police after attacking the girlfriend with an axe out of anger.
Kgomokhumo added that his girlfriend denied him sex and never spent time with him since she brought the prophet into their home.
Kgomokhumo was arraigned before Kanye Magistrate Court this Tuesday, charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and he was granted bail. The case continues on July 10th.
