YOOOH: Vee has been busy over the past months doing acts of charity

It has now been confirmed that popular musician Vee Odirile Sento intends to displace Tumisang Healy from his position as Member of Parliament for Gaborone Central.

Following months of speculation, very reliable sources and close associates of Vee Mampeezy have confirmed to The Midweek Sun that Vee is not leaving any stone unturned as he readies himself to take over from Healy.

“It is unfortunate that the musician cannot uprightly confirm this because there are rules, it will be known publicly once the Botswana Democratic Party officially opens up for primary elections.

“For now, he needs to tread carefully or else he finds himself thrown out before the election race even starts,” said a close associate of Vee who applauded the 'Letlhale Lea Tsamaya' hitmaker for his silence on the matter.

He said what Vee is doing at Gaborone Central can be seen even by a blind person. He is busy caring and interacting with members of the community - giving food hampers to the needy across the country and even hosting football tournaments.

“All those are a build-up to the upcoming contest, Healy should be prepared because it will get even fiercer as election year nears.”

When reached, a cagey Vee would neither confirm nor deny that he is getting ready to wear a political coat.

“I am a member of the BDP subcommittee of Sports and Creative Arts. I was appointed by President Mokgweetsi Masisi, my job is to ensure that I speak for the needs of other musicians in the country. That is all I can say,” Vee said.

Early this year, Healy was understood to be aware that Vee is coming for his seat. He was quoted in Parliament saying artistes should be supported so that they stick to what they do and know best - they should not try do the job of politicians only to be clueless in Parliament.

“Bone badiragatsi ba utlwe ba le motlotlo ba seka yare kamoso ba eletsa dilo tse di sa lebaganang le bone kana which are not their talents, let me put it like that. E seka wa utlwa kamoso modiragatsi mongwe hela, gongwe a eletsa go nna mokhanselara kana mopalamente e le gore o feeler gore ke bone batho ba ba botlhokwa, e re a tsena ha, a bo go sena se a buang e le bone bo yoooh!'

Healy’s remarks were seen as a jab at Vee as the artist's songs are often laced with the signature roar, 'yoooh.'
