CHIEFS vs VTM-PHOTO-BOTSANG MOITOI

The Orange FA Cup has been dubbed the cup of dreams, a platform where lower teams have the opportunity to express themselves and challenge many other giants in the tournament.

The Debswana First Division South League (DFDSL) has four representatives who made it to the last 16 of the Orange FA Cup over the weekend as the tournament action continues to rise towards the climax.

The top four teams in the division are still alive and kicking in the tournament looking to take the war to elite Botswana Football League (BFL) sides who are currently in the tournament.

Log leaders, Matebele FC emerged victors in the round of 32 against Green Lovers; the DFDSL log leaders are looking strong and bold to challenge not only for promotion but to also charge towards winning the Orange FA Cup. The team will take BFL side, Masitaoka in the next round of the tournament.

Meanwhile, the resurgent Notwane, who are currently occupying the second spot in the table, edged out Ncojane Young Stars with a 1-0 victory. The Gaborone based club extended their stay in the tournament, and will face BDF XI in the last 16.

On the other hand, CrackIt City Polar also found their mojo in the tournament with a narrow 1-0 scoreline against their fellow competitors, Broadhurst United over the weekend. CrackIt will take on the defending Champions, Gaborone United in the last 16.

The ambitious first division side will look to take advantage of the slump that Gaborone United is currently experiencing and add on to their misery when the two sides meet in the tournament.

Mochudi Center Chiefs is another team worth mentioning, the team makes up the top four of the DFDSL and their victory against VTM has led them to the last 16 of the tournament where they will face a very tough opponent in Security Systems.

Magosi were eliminated by Systems in the tournament last season and this time around they will be hoping to turn around their fortunes and get their revenge against the Alarm Boys.

However, the Debswana First Division North League (DFDNL) teams did not do very well in the decorated tournament since only MR Highlanders managed to proceed.

The Mahalapye based team took it to penalties against Zowa United and won 4-2 in the shootout following a goalless draw. The team will face Mogoditshene Fighters in the next round.
