M3 Media has demonstrated a significant commitment to football development by injecting P135,000 into the Mosolotshane community. This substantial financial support is specifically earmarked for a local football tournament, aiming to foster the growth of the sport in the area. The sponsorship is structured over a period of three years, with an annual contribution of P45,000. The tournament's primary objectives are to unearth new football talent and provide crucial support to local football teams, setting the stage for a positive and lasting impact on Mosolotshane's sporting landscape.

Otsile Pule, the M3 Media Charity Cup Project Coordinator said that M3 Media is committed to making a change and that the community will highly benefit, particularly football. He explained that this is a chance for unseen football talents to be spotted, potentially leading to scouting players onto their pathways to professional football. He added that the participating teams are registered, and the sponsorship will definitely make a positive impact on them.

'The project is spearheaded by the owner of M3 Media, Innocent Tokong. He is committed to making a long-lasting impact in the Mosolotshane area, having answered the call of the Village Chief (Kgosi) to lend a hand in improving and uplifting the community. A key goal is curbing social ills like drug and alcohol abuse, particularly during the festive season. 'All in all, we want this project to produce football stars and match officials, and we want to give hope to a young child who has ambitions to be a footballer. We are anticipating a smooth tournament. Preparations have been going well so far, and this will be a free entry tournament,' he said.

'The tournament will serve as a unifying event where families, youth, elders, and supporters can gather for positive social interaction. With support from local leadership, including Kgosi Molefhi, the tournament aims to amplify the message of a drug-free and alcohol-responsible community. Furthermore, the competition will contribute to Botswana’s long-term football ecosystem by feeding skilled athletes into regional and national structures,' Pule added.

Pule further stated that the tournament will be run professionally, with the administration and registration of teams being handled by the Mosolotshane Sports Association. He specified that P20,000 will go towards the administrative costs, while P25,000 will be allocated for prize monies. Eight teams will be participating, and the tournament will run from December 25th to 30th at the Mosolotshane

Primary School Grounds. 'The theme is 'Championing a Drug-Free Community'.' Pule elaborated. 'We want our tournament to be fully packed. We will have NGOs present that deal with educating the public on drug and alcohol abuse. We are in talks with other organisations to come and set up stalls for people to access various things on that day, and we are hoping to make a significant impact,' Pule said.

Looking ahead, the M3 Media Charity Cup is already planning for expansion to ensure a broader, more inclusive impact. Pule announced that the next edition of the tournament will include women's football teams. These teams will participate as curtain raisers, a crucial first step towards fully integrating women's football into the event. This initiative underscores the belief that the bigger picture involves supporting all aspects of football development and creating pathways for both male and female athletes in the Mosolotshane community.
