History made!
History was made over the past weekend in Cairo Egypt, as Botswana won both titles for Little Mister and Miss Africa.
The competition saw fifteen African countries competing, and Botswana emerged the best, following in the footsteps of the current reigning African queen, Miss World Africa, Lesego Chombo. Little Mister and Miss Africa is a continental competition for girls and boys aged 4-16 years.
The pageantry celebrates and promotes cultural diversity and tourism while it also provides networking platform for children, according to local Director of this pageant, Gaonyafale Phuti. 'We took our time to prepare for this pageant.
I knew that we should bring something back home but my contestants surely surpassed my imagination and I'm so proud of them. I clinched both Mini Mr and Mini Miss Africa Position, which is a very huge achievement for the country, ' she said. She took five contestants to Egypt and she is happy to share that all of them came back home with awards.
Abale Marumoloa was crowned the queen of Mini Miss Africa, while Mareledi Nkosinathi Giddie was crowned the king with the title 'Mini Mr Africa'. Mandy Andiswa Boko emerged the 2nd Runner up under Little Top Model Category, and Ogone Matome was awarded “The Glamorous Queen'.
Puoeng Anele Maje was crowned 'Miss congeniality'. 'All of them came back home with Awards and crowns and this shall ever be the top tier history of pageantries,' Phuti said noting that the local pageantry space continues to do well internationally and produce those diamonds in human forms.
