Letlhakane police have arrested a 49-year-old Zimbabwean national who claims to be a Pastor after he was caught sending pornographic material to minors.

Investigations reveal that the man had approached several students, some as young as 14, requesting their phone numbers under the pretext of mentorship and spiritual guidance. However, instead of offering religious counsel, he allegedly sent them disturbing sexual content.

The frightened students confided in their teachers, who quickly alerted the police. Upon raiding the suspect’s residence, officers made shocking discoveries, including multiple pairs of panties of different sizes hidden under his bed.

Confirming the arrest, Letlhakane Police Station Commander, Superintendent Michael Maphepu, said the suspect was taken into custody on Sunday after reports surfaced that he had been sharing explicit videos and images, including those of his private parts, with underage students.

Police officers also found a large collection of pornographic material on his smartphone and smart TV. Maphephu confirmed that indeed the panties of different sizes found under his bed were dirty.

Police say the suspect had valid permits to be in the country, and are still investigating what might have brought him here.

They urge parents to monitor their children’s interactions, especially with adults who gain their trust under false pretences.

The suspect has since been remanded in custody while investigations continue.
