Member of Parliament for Palapye, Onnetse Ramogapi has refuted claims that he is thinking of jumping ship from the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) as he has been promised a job in Australia.

Ramogapi explained that he has worked hard to establish himself within the UDC to let it all go to the dust, noting that in 2019 the two councillors he worked with deserted him for other parties.

He said they have worked hard throughout the years in Palapye to build the UDC so that they can deliver the wants of the people.

“Batswana should ignore rumours that the BDP will give me a better life in Australia or anywhere else,” Ramogapi explained, adding that these rumours are baseless and have been started by his competitors to distract voters.

Ramogapi added that he has been nominated to contest in the upcoming elections and said that his competitors in Palapye are at the weakest point.

He said that the BDP in Palapye has had a defection as one of the candidates is running as an independent after failing to be nominated to be the party candidate in the upcoming elections.

Ramogapi is confident that they will secure a win in this upcoming election and he has ambitions of ensuring that a new Palapye Hospital will be built in the area.

He aspires to see people in his constituency receive quality education and will advocate for the improvement of educational facilities in the constituency.

He explained that allocation of plots has been slow and he will lobby for the speedy delivery of this service. Ramogapi is confident that the presence of Madibelatlhopo group in Palapye will ensure that votes will not be stolen in the upcoming elections.
