FNBB retail director urges ISBS graduates to venture into business
The Imperial School of Business and Science (ISBS) capped 222 graduates from the Class of 2023/2024. This year’s ceremony highlighted the diverse academic achievements across various programmes and marks another significant milestone in the institution’s commitment to providing quality education. FNB Retail Director Monkgogi Mogorosi graced the ISBS’s graduation ceremony and was the Guest of Honour.
The ceremony amplifies ISBS's commitment to shaping future leaders in business, management, and science fields, as graduates received their degrees, diplomas and certificates. Graduates represented various disciplines, reflecting ISBS's dedication to fostering skills relevant to the evolving job market. Faculties include Business Management, Early Childhood Education, Entrepreneurship, Finance and Banking, Health and Safety, Human Resource Management, Logistics and Transport Management, Marketing Management, and Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management as well as Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) amongst others.
ISBS alumni have made significant contributions to both the private and public sectors such as First Capital Bank, Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC), Debswana, Mazars, Cresta Hotels, the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana (CAAB), Sefalana, the Department of Wildlife and National Parks, the Department of Road Transport, Premier Clothing, and Flotek amongst others. “With this graduation, ISBS adds to its growing alumni network, exceeding 3,000 successful graduates. ISBS is proud to see its graduates stepping into roles that drive economic development and innovation in Botswana. As we celebrate the achievements of this year’s graduates, we remain committed to nurturing the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals. We believe in the potential of our students to make a lasting impact in their communities and the broader economy,” says Nidheesh Sharma the Institute’s Managing Director.
Meanwhile, FNBB retail director Monkgogi Mogorosi encouraged graduates to seek opportunities from volunteering in blue-chip enterprises for exposure to partnering with friends for entrepreneurship ventures. “Economic diversification is only possible with the participation of the private sector, and the creation of future leaders who can transform our raw material from our winds to the abundant sun into products that can be exported. We need business programs that will ensure our young graduates not only possess the best skills in the world but can create employment. Yes, you can create employment. Try youth projects for funding and try small entrepreneurial ventures,” she added.
With a vibrant display of cultural pride and academic excellence, the event brought together students, faculty, and families to honour the hard work and dedication of the graduating class. Parents shared emotions openly at the graduation as their children were awarded on stage.
ISBS is a fully Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) accredited institution. For the past 20 years, ISBS has been a key player in Botswana’s educational landscape, producing numerous industry leaders who are at various organizations both locally and regionally. The institution has played a significant role in advancing the education sector and has made substantial contributions to the National Credit and Qualification Framework (NCQF).
