Township Rollers Football Club has announced that there will be a grand reveal of their upcoming season's preparations soon. The club, which recently announced a new investor and reaffirmed its faith in the head coach, Mogomotso Mpote, has indicated that this full-fledged launch event will include the unveiling of their new team kit and player roster, generating significant anticipation and excitement among fans and the football community.
Last week, Township Rollers, announced the appointment of Tendani Sebata, CEO of Sebata Group, as the team's new investor and president.
The club has revealed that they are preparing for a major launch event in the coming weeks, where they will showcase the team's new kit, believed to be branded with the logo of their new investor. With Sebata's backing, the Popa aims to strengthen their position as a dominant force in Botswana football, and the upcoming launch is expected to provide more details about their ambitious plans and future vision.
Sebata is a prominent businessman and CEO of Sebata Group, a diversified company with interests in luxury coaches, security services, and cargo handling. The new president signed a five-year agreement with the club, which grants him an 80% stake in the team, while the society retains the remaining 20%.
While the exact amount of funding that Sebata is contributing to Township Rollers each season remains undisclosed, the team's chairman, Phempherethe Pheto, has affirmed that this is not a significant concern. Pheto emphasized that the team is more concerned with the fact that Sebata has taken on the responsibility of running the club and is committed to its long-term success, rather than the specific financial details of his investment.
Pheto has also expressed confidence that Sebata's investment and leadership will enable the team to reclaim its former glory. During the launch event, Pheto reassured supporters that the team's future is in capable hands and that they are optimistic about the upcoming season. He added that the team is currently focused on planning and preparing for the new season, and that further details will be revealed at the team's upcoming launch event, where they will demonstrate their commitment and readiness to compete.
'We have gone into a 5 year contract with Sebata, who will assume control of team operations supported by the Rollers executive committee, and management. Mr Sebata is passionate about football and has big plans for Township Rollers. In all the meetings we have been with him, Sebata says and does the right things to show that he has the best interests of Township Rollers,' Pheto said.
'As a club, we're open to partnerships with commercial sponsors, and we will ensure that any potential deals align with our core values of teamwork, accountability, integrity, and professionalism. Furthermore, we will be putting in place structures to guarantee that both parties' interests are safeguarded at all times, and that all decisions are made in the best interests of the club and its stakeholders,' he added.
