A dejected father is panicking at the realisation that his three-year-old baby girl might have been molested by his baby mama’s relatives.

The father whose identity cannot be revealed told this publication that his baby mama who resides in Jinja, Gaborone, told him that their daughter’s private parts appear bruised.

When they questioned the child, she told them that some school going boys, who are close relatives of the baby mama, had touched her down there.

The child is not walking properly, suggesting that she was in some kind of pain.

“I am hurt, I asked my baby mama and she told me that she had taken our child to the police and they advised her to go see a doctor at Marina Hospital,” the father said.

“The doctor told her that the child appears violated and bruised, she is not being clear if the doctor said she was raped or not. It seems this incident happened over the weekend and the mother only noticed a few days later,” he said.

He is further worried that evidence seems to have been washed away and he is not sure what the intentions of his baby mama are.

“I have been travelling a lot, I have not gone to the police station myself to hear from them. She told me that she was called by someone from Child Line, we are yet to hear from them,” he said.

When reached for comment, the mother said she is waiting to hear what the police will say but later said she had withdrawn the case and is not comfortable discussing the issue with the media.

“She is probably traumatised. I know for a fact that my baby mama was also sexually abused by her uncles at a young age. She is not coping at all,” said the father.

Broadhurst station commander Obusitswe Lokae was not able to confirm or deny if they ever had such a case at his station at press time. He advised that the father contacts them for full details.
