A 51-year-old man lost his life under bizarre circumstances this past weekend after he was run over by two vehicles along the Machaneng/Sefhare Road near Ditshoswaneng lands. The deceased was a prison warder based at Moshupa Prisons, and details around the tragic accident are that while traveling from from Sefhare to Machaneng in a Toyota Vios, he had abruptly stopped his vehicle at around 9;15 at night, got out of it and walked on to the road some seconds before he would be tragically killed.

According to an eyewitness who was driving behind him, the victim suddenly stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road, left the engine running, and the lights on high beam. The eyewitness reported that the driver then got out of his car holding a bottle of beer. Unfortunately, he mysteriously tripped and fell onto the opposite lane of the road.

It was at that moment that an unidentified mini truck came from the opposite direction and ran over the man. The truck did not stop, speeding away after the incident. The second vehicle that was following the truck, a Volkswagen Golf, also ran over the victim, dragging his body a short distance. The driver of the Golf stated that he did not see the victim due to the bright headlights of the victim's car. The injured man was rushed to Sefhare

Hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival. He had sustained severe head injuries and a fractured right arm.

Authorities were quickly informed of the accident and have opened an investigation into the events leading to, and following the incident. At this moment, Machaneng Police are appealing for any information that could help identify the driver of the mini truck that fled the scene so as to help them with investigations.
